As a teenager, Nichol struggled with her weight drastically, bouncing from one fad diet to the next and even experimented with weight loss pills.

After several years of yo-yo dieting, Nichol reached her “goal” weight but noticed she was still struggling with symptoms and did not feel good most days. She became obsessed with food, always watching the clock for her next meal/snack, felt irritable, had poor sleep patterns, suffered from low energy, and just an overall feeling of not feeling good. Over the years following, always obsessed with keeping her weight in check, Nichol began to dive into understanding nutrition, becoming more and more fascinated with the “health” side of things. She slowly began to understand that food truly was medicine, and even though you may lose weight or are considered “thin”, it doesn’t necessarily correlate with true health and wellness.

As an RN, working in both Pediatrics and Oncology, Nichol started to notice that a lot of patient’s suffering was nutrition and lifestyle based, yet this was rarely addressed. Instead, there was more of a push towards medications. Suddenly, Nichol felt her belief in true health wasn’t fully aligned with her place as a nurse. In 2014, Nichol began to pursue a different career path, one that aligned with her passions and beliefs in health and wellness. She became a certified holistic health coach, through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition as well as a registered yoga teacher (2015).

Shortly after these accomplishments, Nichol’s path crossed with Paul C Tijerina. She joined his SuperHuman Transformation, a 10-week nutrition and lifestyle program, where everything she had learned and everything she believed was all tied together in this one program. For the first time in Nichol’s life, she was not only maintaining her weight but felt AMAZING! Energy levels were stable, she was no longer obsessed with food, sleep patterns improved, mental clarity improved, you name it, it improved. Nichol then transitioned into becoming a Nutrition & Health coach with Paul C. Tijerina, with a focus on hormone and fertility health. Nichol’s passion for women’s health developed shortly after working with Paul professionally, and then struggling to conceive personally.

After a year of trying, she and her husband saw a fertility specialist, and while they found nothing wrong, recommended IVF. With infertility on the rise, and more and more women struggling to conceive, she has been diving into figuring out the “why” this is happening, and what we can do to change it. Nichol strongly believes that through nutrition changes, lifestyle changes, alternative therapies, and supplements, we can support our body’s natural ability to conceive. Whether you decide to go with medical intervention or not, it is still important to prepare your body for pregnancy through nutrition and lifestyle changes.

Nichol’s mission is to help women, whether trying to conceive or not, take back control of their health. So, they can feel happy, healthy and vibrant! Through nutrition and lifestyle modifications, we can learn to support our healthy body, support hormone regulation, and give the body what it needs for hormone regulation and balance, conception, having a healthy pregnancy, and giving birth to a beautiful, healthy, strong baby.
